

Noreen Bernita Keane, 85, passed to be with her Lord Jesus October 11, 2010 in Stanwood, WA. She was born to Benson and Myrtle Northup February 12, 1925 in Hoquiam, WA. Noreen was raised on a homestead on the Clearwater River 4 miles from the Pacific Ocean on the Olympic Peninsula. As World War II approached the family moved to Brinnon, WA where she then graduated from Quilcene High School in 1943. Noreen married Bruce Keane in 1945. She and her family lived many places across the country including Pullman, Seattle, Tacoma, Granger, Prosser in Washington State, Lawson and Excelsior Springs in Missouri, Amherst and Tonawanda in New York, Riverdale and Beltsville in Maryland, and returned to Tacoma area. In 1983 Noreen completed her A.A. Degree at Steilacoom Community College. She was known to be one of the finest secretaries during her working days. Nothing was sent out of her office with a miss-spelling or grammatical error. Noreen worked for the State of Washington and in federal service the Veterans Dept. and the Dept. of Agriculture. Noreen and Bruce retired to the Warm Beach Senior Community in 1984. While there they enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome. Preceding Noreen in death was her daughters, Laura Keane (at birth), Barbara Keane and brother Chester Northup. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bruce Keane of Stanwood, son Daniel (Margie) Keane of Stanwood; grandchildren, Andrew (Tiffany Luchetti) Keane of Albuquerque, NM, Kristin (Gerad) Aasen of Stanwood, Timothy Keane of Stanwood, Jonathan Keane of Stanwood, Ann Noreen Keane of Stanwood; Great-grandchildren, Emery, Mackenzie and Taylor Aasen, and born the day Noreen left us, Bastian Andrew Keane. A viewing will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010, 6-8:00 p.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA. A family graveside service will be held Friday, October 22, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Cemetery, 27001 88th Ave. NW, Stanwood. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010, 3:30 p.m. at Beachwood Fireside Room of the Warm Beach Senior Community, 20420 Marine Dr., Stanwood.
