

Ronald Collins of Snohomish died on February 21, 2025. Ron was born on July 26, 1945, in Fair Bluff, NC. He moved to Snohomish at the age of 12 and graduated from Snohomish High School and Everett Community College. Ron joined the Everett Fire Department in 1967 and worked as a firefighter and in the Fire Marshal’s office until his retirement in 1987. He later worked for United Way of Snohomish County and was part of several key campaigns.
Ron was very proud of his community service, including “Give Burns the Boot” as part of the fire department, and his volunteering with the Everett food bank. He was equally proud of his athletic accomplishments, including winning a state doubles tennis title in 1964 for Everett Community College, where he was inducted into their athletic hall of fame in 2015 as part of the men’s tennis team. He also loved playing softball as part of the Everett Firefighters’ team for many years.
Ron is survived by his wife, Charlotte, four children, and six grandchildren. He also leaves behind extended family and many long-time friends. Ron considered everyone he met his friend and enjoyed sharing his stories.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Bardin and Aline, his sister, Pansy, and his brother, Larry. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 18 at 11:00AM at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills at 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood.
