It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Samuel Elroy Hameline on February 22, 2024, at the age of 47. Sam, along with his twin Magdalene McKay Hameline (Maggie), was born August 21, 1976, in Missoula, Montana. Sam attended Snohomish High School in Snohomish, Washington, and spent much of his life in and around the Washington cities of Everett, Marysville, and Arlington. Also known as “Sambone,” he “impacted the lives of everyone he encountered” and is remembered for his generous spirit and kind heart. His sudden departure has left a hole in many hearts.
Sam is survived by his mother Teresa Magnuson (Alan Weibe), twin sister Maggie (Michael Jordon), sons Jordan Hameline and Gavin Martin, daughters Kaylee Spoelstra and Anissa Spoelstra, niece Marissa Coffey, granddaughter Charley, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends too numerous to mention. Honorable mention goes to Sam’s dog, Princess, who gave birth to four little puppies shortly before Sam’s passing. Sam was preceded in death by his father Elroy “Ozzie” Hameline, niece Ariana Reyes with whom he shared a special bond, and uncle Terry Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Sam’s legacy by performing your own random acts of kindness. Pay it forward. Visit someone who can’t go out. Feed a homeless person. Text your bro. Buy gas for one in need. Adopt a stray dog. Buy coffee for a stranger. Tip your waiter. Give a chap a ride. Never miss a chance to tell someone you love them. Be grateful. Be happy. Be kind. And, be good to yourself.
The family wishes all to consider a quote Sam recently posted on his Facebook page, “Life is a precious gift. Enjoy it. Smile. Have fun. Make friends. Find love. Happiness is a choice. Love y’all.”
A celebration of life will be held Friday. March 15, at 12:00 p.m. with reception to follow, at Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills. 409 Filbert Road.
