Anna Dean Hartley was born in Cochran, Georgia, to the late John Milton Dean and Eleanor O'Neal Dean. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 54 years, Marcus Hartley; her brothers Buddy Dean, J.M. Dean, Joel Dean, Barney Dean, and Adrin Dean; and her sisters Ruth Adkins, Mary Dean, Dorothy Francis, and Abyleen Dean.
Anna retired from GEICO Insurance Company, but her greatest work was found in the love and care she poured into her family. She had an unwavering passion for helping others, especially her daughters, and took pride in keeping their homes filled with warmth, laughter, and home-cooked meals. She often surprised them by cleaning their houses and having supper waiting on the stove when they returned from work.
A proud and dedicated grandmother, Anna could often be found cheering from the bleachers at her six grandsons’ ballgames, hopping from one field to the next. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love showed in every thoughtful act and sacrifice.
Anna also had a deep love for dancing. Her favorite nights were spent in Cochran, GA at the Oak Grove Jamboree, where she danced the night away with her closest friends, radiating joy and youthful spirit.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Melissa (Lee) Skinner of Gray and Tiffany (Chris) Green of Gray; grandchildren, Kayse Skinner, Brent (Rebecca) Skinner of Gray, Marcus (Kathleen) Taylor of Roberta, Ryan Skinner of Gray, Zachary (Gracli) Odom of Haddock, Kyle Skinner of Gray, and Matthew Odom of Gray; great-grandchildren, Kamden Adams, Peyton Taylor, Kade Taylor, Lux Odom, Madison Skinner, and Winston Skinner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, two special sisters-in-laws, Patricia Jones, and Christine Hartley, along with her beloved cat, Tux.
Anna’s six grandsons will proudly serve as her pallbearers.
Anna's legacy is one of unwavering love, tireless giving, and unshakable strength. She leaves behind a family forever touched by her kindness, dedication, and beautiful spirit.
