

Anne Rhea Komar, of Macon passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017. A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. William Neely officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at Macon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shurlington United Methodist Church, Mission Fund, 2060 Shurling Dr., Macon GA 31211.
Anne was born in Maxeys, Georgia to the late Hampton and Maggelene Young on December 22, 1929. She graduated from Oglethorpe County High School and went on to get a degree from Athens Business School of Athens Georgia. She also received diplomas from Sumter Technical School, Sumter South Carolina and Charles County Technical School, LaPlata Maryland. Anne was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Anne was a vocalist, pianist and loved to “cut a rug.” She took pleasure in cooking and shopping. She had pride in the home she lived in and tended to her yard with enjoyment. Most of all, she loved her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she lived life with a zest that made her unforgettable.
Anne is preceded in death by her sisters; Elma and Madelyn; brothers; Jack, James and Toby. Anne is survived by her daughter; Linda (John) McDevitt, sons; Gary (Debbie) Anderson and Steven (Sharon) Anderson, six grandchildren; Brandi, Jennifer, Jackie, Starr, Isaiah, Sarah, nine great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Navicent Health Trauma, Surgical Trauma Intensive Care and Palliative Care for their support in her final days.
