

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beulah Mae Romero, age 85, on January 24, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and follower of Jesus, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, leaving a legacy of faith, resilience, and kindness. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3969 Mercer University Dr. Macon, Ga 31204, with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. Beulah was born in Screven County, Georgia to the late William H. Friese and Beulah Friese. She was married to her beloved husband, Lewis Menson Romero, for an incredible 62 years, together building a home filled with love, faith, and cherished memories. As the matriarch of her family she served as a stay at home mom, providing a loving home and nurturing upbringing to her children. Later in life, “Mae” worked and volunteered in roles that reflected her giving spirit, including serving at a burn unit, Gracewood (Georgia State Hospital), and as a teacher’s aide at Waynesboro High and Elementary schools. Mae found joy in reading, serving others, and spending time with her family. She was affectionately known to many as “Aunt Mae”.
She faced life’s challenges with strength and grace, including the loss of her son, Lewis. Her faith deepened during this time, and she became a devoted follower of Jesus. Her life was a testament to unwavering faith, resilience, and love for others.
Mae was one of seven siblings. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Jeffers, Janie Janoski, Doris Doyle and , and two brothers, William “Jud” Friese, Bob Friese.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Romero; children, William (Bill) Romero (Kim), Sarah Louise Romero; grandchildren, Brittany Tilley, Ashley Lariscy, Hailey Lariscy, Lauren Romero Ward (Paul), Bryce Romero, Ashley Martin, Tyler Martin; great-grandchildren, Rylee Tilley, Anistyn Mingle, Justin Leeks; sister, Ann McNorrill (Tommy) of Macon, Ga; brother, Jim Friese (Faye) of Hephzibah, Ga, with whom she shared a deep bond and several nieces and nephews.
