Carolyn Irby Carr, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. A private memorial service will be held at a later date at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgia Academy for the Blind, 2895 Vineville Ave., Macon GA 31204.
Mrs. Carr was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Frank and Willie Mae Irby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin W. Carr and her son, Michael Eugene Carr. She was a devoted and loving Christian mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Mrs. Carr served on the Council of the Blind and enjoyed the Red Hat Society and playing bingo.
She is survived by her children; Doris Bloodworth of Macon, Marlon Eric Carr of Houston, TX, granddaughter; Jessica Carr and seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sister, Marolyn Cantrell of Portland, TN and several nieces and nephews.
