

Catherine Maxwell Franklin, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 28, 2016 in Howell, Michigan. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday, February 5, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Fullerton, California to the late Yancey Vickery Maxwell and Reba Barton Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Benjamin Franklin, Jr.
Mrs. Franklin, in her early years of marriage, worked for the law firm Martin, Martin, & Snow in Macon. She later chose to be a full-time homemaker where she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, playing the piano and reading. She loved beauty and decorated the table in a way that showed that love for many of the special family holiday meals throughout the years. The most important thing to Mrs. Franklin was her faith and teaching her children the Bible. Her husband was a pastor and a Gideon and she faithfully supported him at many churches over the years. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church of Gray, Georgia.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Christopher Franklin, Mary Anne F. Perdue (Rev. R. Kim), John “Mark” Franklin; grandchildren, David Alan Perdue (Bridgette), Dr. Robbyn Kimberly Anand (Anand Balasubramanian), Joni Charlene Langenberg (Dan); great grandchildren, Peyton Perdue, Matthew Perdue, Hunter Bendele, Jon Perdue, Keertna Anand, Ryan Langenberg, Gavin Langenberg.
