Cesar Octavio Sosa-Amay Sr., 80, of Chiclayo, Peru passed away August 14, 2023. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Snow's Funerals and Cremations at Macon Memorial Park Chapel with Stephen Campbell officiating and with military honors. The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Snow's Funerals and Cremations at Macon Memorial Park.
He served in the US Army from 2-16-65 to 2-16-67 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 11 months of service, he rose from Private to Sergeant. He drove for the Post Commander and was an Interpreter for U.S. army. His army Education & training included battle indoctrination, code of conduct, military justice. His technical training was in heavy equipment driving. He was honorably discharged on 2-15-67 with medals and good conduct, non-commissioned officer service of merit and expert rifleman. He had earned his U.S. Citizenship at the end of service.
Cesar was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Adolpho Sosa y Parra and Frida Amay y Gastiabura. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Virgina J. Gaeblein- Sosa; children, Cesar Octavio Sosa Jr., Oscar Adolpho Sosa (Leonor), Hector Orlando Sosa (Daisy), Janet Ann Sosa; siblings, Margo, Leonor, Rita, Rosa, Queta– all in Peru, Victor – Texas (Elsa), Pedro – California (Yolanda), Carlos, Mario in Peru; grandchildren, Crystal, Jaqueline, Lucas, Cesar III, Alexander, Joshua, Leonidas, other family members include:
Michelle Vasquez plus numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
