

Charlie E. Casteel, Sr., passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Lyles officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, 31201.
Mr. Casteel was born in Marietta, Georgia to the late James and Bessie Mae Tanner Casteel and was reunited in Heaven with his loving wife of 65 years, Delores Crumley Casteel, grandson, Scott Casteel, and 12 siblings. He was a member of the Baptist faith. As the Owner of Charlie Casteel Construction, he was a hardworking man, working seven days a week. His greatest accomplishments in life were the loving relationship with his wife and children and he set an example of what every husband and father should strive to be.
Survivors include his children, Chuck Casteel, Jr., Ann (Randy) Casteel Tidwell and Mike (Cindy) Casteel; grandchildren, Miranda Long, Jason Tidwell, Scott Calhoon, Michael Calhoon, Charlie Casteel and Bailey Casteel; great grandchildren, Anne Marie Long, Sam Calhoon, Finn Casteel Calhoon, Willow June Long and Caroline Elise Calhoon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
