

Macon – Chesley Jack Paul, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 20, 2010, after an extended illness. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday December 23, 2010 in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Jack was born in Wrens, GA on May 1, 1923 and lived in Macon most of his life. He proudly served his country during World War II as a Navy Cook. He operated Jack Paul’s Service Station on Gray Highway for over 30 years, and was a member Highland Hills Baptist Church. Jack had a passion for raising Silver Sebright Bantam show chickens and was an active member of the Silver Sebright Club for many years. He and his Sebrights won numerous awards at the Georgia State Fair during the 1970’s. During the days of the CB radio, Jack loved talking to his buddies and went by the “handle” Banty Rooster. His base station was located on Engle Dr. in Macon. Jack is preceded in death by his wife Doris Pournell Paul, wife, Irene Small Paul, and son-in-law, Randy Lee Broome.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Coral Broome of Moore, SC; sons, Bruce Paul and his wife Nora of Macon and Brian Paul of Bolingbroke; grandchildren, Pamela Broome of Moore, SC, Kevin Broome of Charleston, SC, Clayton Broome of Spartanburg, SC, Jessica Howard and her husband Michael of Augusta, GA and Carl Paul of Macon.
