

Clarence Yates, 80, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. David Mosley officiating. The family will meet friends on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northridge Baptist Church, 2360 Gray Highway, Macon GA 31211 and or to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Pkwy, Dublin GA 31021.
Mr. Yates was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Luther E. and Cornelia Frances Eddy Yates. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Muriel Massey, David Yates and Lillian Roberts and his nephew and nieces; David Knight, Bunny Yates and Pam Glover. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia College and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Yates was a member of Northridge Baptist Church, Job’s Sunday School Class and was a Deacon. He enjoyed bird hunting, woodworking and fishing. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Barbara S. Yates of Milledgeville, daughter; Karen (Mark) Coleman of Gainesville, GA, sons; Allen L. (Deborah) Yates of Gray, GA, Evan M. Yates of Macon, GA, grandchildren; Kelly (Chris) Valenziano of Macon, Ashley (Derek) Bulmer of Charlotte, NC, Jesica and Dustin Shipley of Gray, three great grandchildren; Alyssa and Cassidy Valenziano of Macon, and Ella Bulmer of Charlotte, NC, and sister-in-law; Mrs. Pat Yates.
