Macon, GA—Mr. Curtis J. Houston, 80, died Thursday evening, March 6, 2014, in a local hospital, with his family at his side. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 9 at 4 o’clock. A private entombment will follow in the Annex Mausoleum of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 to 8 PM. Flowers are accepted, or those who wish, may make memorial contributions to United Hospice of Macon, 6060 Lakeside Commons Drive, Macon, GA 31210. The family suggests that casual dress is welcomed to those attending Mr. Houston’s service.
Mr. Houston was born to the late Jimmie Lou Houston, in Warwick, Georgia in 1933. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Houston later worked and retired from Robins Air Force Base after over 30 years of service, in the 640 Electronics Division. He was a member of Living Faith Family Worship Center in Perry, and was a former member of the Warner Robins Moose Lodge. Mr. Houston was preceded in death by his son, George James Houston; sister, Verna Pruitt of Eatonton; sister-in-law, Bertie (Roland) Haddock of Gray; son-in-law, Ross Cardwell of Scottsville, Kentucky.
Surviving Mr. Houston are his wife of 26 years, Annese B. Houston; daughters, Denese Buchanan Cardwell of Scottsville, Kentucky; Patricia (Phil) Buchanan Bush of Senoia; grandchildren, Kayla and Carrie Bush of Senoia; God-children, Frank (Barbara) Hill, Toni Lynn Choate; God-grandchildren, Samantha and Jessica Choate; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
