Darlis Ervin Whitworth, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be private with the Rev. Jason Dillard and Larry Thompson officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Research, cancer.org/donate.
Darlis was born in Breckinridge, KY to the late Harvey E. and Gladys Robinson Whitworth. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Whitworth and Bobby Keith Whitworth. Darlis served his country in the United States Air Force and was retired from Brown and Williamson. He was a member of Gray Methodist Church. Darlis was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda Givan Whitworth of Gray, children, Mark Whitworth of Macon, Yvette Perry of Gray, grandchildren, Chandler Perry and Brandon Perry of Gray, great grandson, Eli Perry, brothers, Kenneth Whitworth, Stevie Whitworth, sisters, Wanda M. Ross, Nadine Scott, Glenda Whobery, Myra Cade, Darlene Higdon and several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog “Chester”.
