David “Gene” Snell, 74, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Rev. Kevin Mills will officiate. The burial will be private for family only in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service and asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
Mr. Snell was born in Macon, Georgia the son of the late Julia Frances Cox Snell and David J. Snell. He was an optician for Downtown Opticians and was a member of Northway Church. Mr. Snell was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Snell.
Mr. Snell is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenda Snell of Macon; daughter, Dawn Speir (Steve) of Forsyth; grandchildren, Bradley (Jacquie) and Cliff (Sallie) Speir and Jake Snell; 2 great-grandchildren, Evan Speir and Lillie Speir and 2 more great-grandchildren on the way; brother, Dean Snell (Shelli) of Macon; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
