
Denver Robert Terrell, 82, joined his Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at a local hospital. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Chuck Beaver and the Rev. Bob Hamilton will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1 p.m., to service time on Saturday at the funeral home. They ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Northridge Baptist Church, 2360 Gray Highway, Macon 31211 or to the charity of your choice.
Mr. Terrell, son of the late Dennis Pugh Terrell and Ruth Von Boeckman Terrell, was born in Florence, AL but lived in Macon most of his life. He was a graduate of Lanier High School and served in the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War. Mr. Terrell was a locomotive engineer with Norfolk-Southern Railroad retiring after forty-two years and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was also a member of the Daylight Masonic Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star. Mr. Terrell was formerly a member of Shurlington Baptist Church for fifty years where for ten years, he served in the Tape Ministry to the shut-ins. For the past eight years , a member of Northridge Baptist Church where he was known as “the Candy Man.”
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by those he loved most, his wife of sixty years, Geneva Hall Terrell of Macon; his son, Dwayne A. Terrell of Macon; his daughter, Alisha (Tim) Sparks of Macon; his beloved grandchildren, Trey Yates, Josh Terrell and Mikayla Sparks; his sister, Mickie Russell and several nieces and nephews.
