Diana L. Smith, 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Her life will be celebrated on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 11AM, graveside in Harris Family Cemetery, 4159 Hitchcock Road, Macon, GA 31217, led by Rev. Claire Davis. Family will greet friends at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday evening, March 25, from 6 until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Idyll Acres Rescue Ranch, 312 Hwy 18 W, Gray, GA 31032-3716.
Diana was born in Texas in 1941, where she attended school and was raised on a "real" ranch with her cowboy father. She moved to Macon, Georgia in 1976 with her late husband, Joe Lamb. Diana worked at McKesson for several years. After her husband Joe's death, she moved to Colonial Bread, later named EarthGrains, where she ultimately retired from. Diana remarried the former pastor of Church of the Wildwood, Lewis E. Smith, and later she became a member of Northway Church of Macon.
Diana was a consummate caretaker for her family and her animals. She became the CEO of Idyll Acres Rescue Ranch in Gray, Georgia after her second husband, Lewis E. Smith's passing. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Lamb.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lisa Lamb Rogers and husband Donnie; grandchildren, Lee Rogers; Laura Rogers Heath and husband Charlie; 6 great grandchildren; a tremendous host of extended family and friends.
