

Mr. Donald R. Baker, 69, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at an area hospital. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 12 Noon, in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Dominic Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, for an hour prior to the service.
Mr. Baker was born in Sacramento, California and entered the United States Army in 1967. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, receiving a Bronze Star and was a Purple Heart recipient. After his military service, he acquired a love for many things throughout his life. Mr. Baker was a carpenter, working for S&D Construction, and having a great joy in wood working. Riding his motorcycle was his favorite hobby, just ahead of his cars, an 82 Corvette Daytona Pace Car, and his 2015 Challenger. He loved fishing and his scratch off lottery tickets, but above all of his worldly possessions, loved his grandchildren and his wife. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife Kim Baker, by his side for 20 years; daughter, Dr. Cindy (Clayton) Brown; son, Michael J. Hughes; daughters, Brandy (Tracy) Cephus, Kimberly (Mario) Smith; son, Christopher (Amber) Eason; grandchildren, Aysia, Daelan, Jeremiah, Eli, Baleigh, Ryland, Grayson, Marli, Joshua, and Avery; and his 3 dogs.
