Donald “Don” Wayne DeShazo, 85, passed away on April 6, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church, 939 Wesleyan Drive, Macon GA 31210 or Parkinson’s Foundation, Parkinson.org., or donor’s favorite charity.
Don was born in Childress, Texas to the late Aubra M. and Odell Morren DeShazo. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles DeShazo and Dean DeShazo. He served his country in the United States Army and was an old car enthusiast. Don was retired as a supervisor with Reeves Construction. He was a member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. Don was a devoted and loving husband, brother, uncle and friend to all.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn “Yvonne” DeShazo, sister-in-law, Susie DeShazo, several nieces and nephews, his special friends, Mickey Wilson, Kristie Hammond and Angie Alstone.
