

Dorothy “Dot” Wheeler, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 1, 2014. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Lewis officiating. The family will meet friends following the service.
Mrs. Wheeler was born in Macon, GA to the late Oliver F. and Beulah Maude Cook Wilkes. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bucky” Wheeler, daughter, Debra W. Hall, son, Jeffrey D. Wheeler, grandson, Justin Oliver Doyle Hall and son-in-law, John C. Flanders, Jr. Dot was a hairdresser for over forty years and was the owner-operator of Sophisti-Curl Hair Salon. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. Dot was a true Southern lady of grace and kindness; she enjoyed spending time with her family and playing the piano and singing and also had a great love for painting. She was known as “BaBa” by her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Dianne (Mike) Lewis of Roberta, Donna Flanders of Macon, Denise (Ricky) Bennett of Macon, Doug (Tracy) Wheeler of Macon, Don Wheeler of Macon, son-in-law; Harvey “Bo” Hall of Gray, sixteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
