Edna Thompson Greene, 95, formerly of Macon, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Byron Powers officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Susan G. Mrs. Greene was born in Lumber City, Georgia to the late Joseph A. and Mallory Wooten Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Carl Greene and her sisters, Joella Johnson and Austine Strong. She was a member of Red Oak Methodist Church in Covington, Georgia and was a former member of First Street United Methodist Church in Macon. She was a homemaker and loved her family and caring for others.
She is survived by her son, Victor Greene of Stone Mountain, GA, daughter, Carol Lindsey of Roswell, GA, two grandchildren, Scott Sanders and Stacy Small, sister, Nellie Barberich of Macon, and several nieces and nephews.
