Elbert L. Prince, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 surrounded by his family. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kim Washburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon GA 31201.
Elbert was born in Butler, Georgia to the late Albert and Alma Youngblood Prince. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Martha B. Prince, his son, Charles Leon Prince, a granddaughter, Karen Evans and great grandchild, Christian and several siblings. Elbert was retired from the Macon Water Authority as a meter reader supervisor. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his children, Rudy (Karen) Prince of Byron, Pam (Tommy) Walker of Gray, Rusty (Cindy) Prince of Macon, grandchildren, Sherri (Robbie) Thrasher, Tabatha (Craig) Findley, Kristi (Clay) Brown, Kandi (Stephen) Cleveland, Kasey Williams, Angie Smallwood, fifteen great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, sisters, Tressie Manderson and Jeanette Hogue, brothers, Bernard Prince and Ricky Prince and several nieces and nephews.
