

She grew up in Talbotton, Georgia. She was a dedicated military wife for 22 years while her husband served in the Army. They were married for 52 years. She retired from Columbus Carpet Mill after 16 years of service. She was longtime member of Talbotton Baptist Church, Talbotton, GA and Eastwood Baptist Church in Columbus, GA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters and her husband, Nyle Robert DeWitt, her daughter, Rebecca Tabor, great grandson, Jordan Tabor and great granddaughter, Olivia Tabor.
She is survived by her son, Robert Eugene DeWitt (Paige), Macon, GA, her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Fritz (George), Phenix City, AL; her bonus daughter, Penny DeWitt, Kathleen, GA; grandchildren, Michael DeWitt (Lisa), Jonathan DeWitt (Gina), Brian Tabor (Toby), Jennifer Fey, Aaron Tabor (Erin) a number of great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Pruitt Health Hospice for the excellent care given to our mother.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park, 3969 Mercer University Drive from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Long officiating. Interment will take place @ 1:00 p.m. @ Fort Benning Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
