Era Gary Bourlakas died Monday, June 29, 2015. A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Hassell officiating.
She was born to the late Thomas and Georgia Gary on July 5, 1924 in Birmingham, AL. Her family moved to Macon in her early teens. She was a graduate of Miller High School in Macon. She worked as an accountant for several local firms and retired from Southern Trust Insurance Company. She was an active member of Cross Keys United Methodist Church. She was an astute business woman and an absolutely devoted mother and grandmother. There was no greater Braves or Dawg fan!
Survivors include her sons, Pete Bourlakas of Macon; Tom (Diva) Bourlakas of Macon; grandsons, Brent Bourlakas of Macon; Pete Harbin of McRae; Patrick Harbin of McRae; granddaughter, Laura Bourlakas of Macon.
