Esther Hortman Wheeler, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, February 19, 2017. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11:00am in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church, 1415 Bass Road, Macon, 31210.
Esther was born in Crawford County, Georgia to the late Tom and Nettie Moncrief Hortman and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wheeler; daughter, Laurie Reagin; and son, Reggie Wheeler. She was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church, the Faith Bible Sunday School Class, WMU and GA’s. Esther was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her son, Randy (Gail) Wheeler of Macon; grandchildren, Ansley (Brittan) Wheeler Rawls, Rebecca (Wesley) Wheeler Grimes, Emily (Chris) Wheeler Stapleton, Jenny Wheeler Smith, Thomas Wheeler, Jr., Chase (Jessica) Wheeler, Jr., Blake (Lyndsey) Wheeler and Nicole Reagin; and ten great grandchildren.
