Ethel Chancey, 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Baggett officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Ethel was born in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Jim Roberts and Lola Anderson Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Tommy Chancey and her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Ricky Gay. Ethel retired from the Bibb County Board of Education as a lunchroom cashier. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and gambling. Ethel was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her bonus daughter of thirty years, Brenda Ross, nephew, Dennis (Judy) Roberts, son, Lynn (Vicki) Chancey, daughter, Belinda Chancey, Goddaughter, Kristina Kendall, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
