

Franklin Eugene “Gene” Fountain, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 7, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in the chapel of Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Long officiating. Family will greet friends an hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macon Rescue Mission, 6601 Zebulon Road, Macon GA 31220.
Gene was born on December 11,1935 in Gordon, Georgia to the late Walter Lee and Georgia Mae Robinson Fountain. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Patricia Brown Fountian, siblings, Olin Fountain, Gladys Jones, Cecil Fountain, James Fountain and Grace Kelley. While attending East Macon Methodist Church he met the love of his life, Patricia Brown Fountain and after a year they married on March 20,1964.
Above all, Gene loved Jesus with all of his heart, and it showed by how he served others. He was a member of First Evangelical Church and the Believing Crusaders Sunday School Class, and he served in various leadership roles at the church. One of his greatest joys was visiting shut-ins and witnessing about his love for his Lord. He served on the Timber Ridge Neighborhood HOA and was passionate about keeping his neighborhood litter free and beautiful. Gene enjoyed fishing, walking and studying the Word of God. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, David (Angela) Fountain, Sharon (Chad) Edwards, Glen (Katrina) Fountain; niece, Michele (Eric) Lester; step-grandchildren, Glenn Canepa (Alexis), Stephen Canepa (Peighton), Jewelynn Canepa; grandchildren, Abbie (Tyler) Stembridge, Ethan (Taylor) Edwards, Micah Eugene Fountain and Evan Lester; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Millie Katherine, Eleanor Ruth and Doddie Elizabeth; several nieces and nephews.
