Franklin R. Tharp, 87, passed away on January 10, 2021. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel mausoleum at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Franklin was born in Pettis, MO to the late Homer Arthur Tharp and Margaret L. Maddox Tharp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Cumbie Tharp and his daughter, Theresa Tidwell. Franklin served his country in the United States Army and was retired after twenty years of service. He worked at Robins Air Force as a Communications specialist for eighteen years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his sons; James (Lisa) Tharp of Milner, GA and Kenneth (Rebekah) Tharp of Macon, fourteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
