Garrie Brewer Underwood, age 77, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Christian Church with Pastor Jerry Dorriety. A visitation and fellowship will follow the service. Garrie was an avid Braves fan, and the family asks that you wear your Braves colors and attire. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the CWF of St. Andrew Christian Church, 6220 Thomaston Road, Macon, Georgia 31220.
Garrie was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Walter Nathaniel and Venida Odom Brewer; and was preceded in death by her husband, George Underwood; and son, Grant Underwood. She was retired from INA/Cigna as an Insurance Clerk and was a member of St. Andrew Christian Church. She was a 1964 graduate of Margaret McEvoy High School. Garrie enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, and watching sports, especially the Braves, the Dawgs, and Atlanta United.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jason Batchelor; daughter-in-law, Dana Ice; grandson, Conner Batchelor (Carmen); granddaughter, Dorian Underwood; great grandpup, Ollie Mae; sisters, Candy Brewer, and Naomi Brewer Blalock Mullis; aunt, Gail Thompson; brother-in-laws, Ron Underwood, Grady Underwood, and Julian Blount; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
