George A. "Chuck" Yates

George Alfred (Chuck) Yates went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 28, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Corbitt officiating. Interment will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 2:00 to 3:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.

Mr. Yates was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late George A. Yates, SR and Ethel Mills Yates. He was a retired supervisor from the Jacksonville Electrical Authority. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville (Downtown). He was an avid golfer, who loved the Florida Gators. Mr. Yates was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Kenneth O. and Gloria Yates and two sisters and brother-in-law: Betty D. and Duke Cumbee and Norma J. Reynolds. The family would also like to thank Pine Pointe Hospice for their kind and loving care they showed their family.

Mr. Yates is survived by his loving wife: Jacqueline Buske Yates of Macon; daughter: Robin Yates Simpson of Macon; grandson: Steven M. (Susannah) Simpson of Moultrie; brother: Robert R. Yates of Jacksonville; daughter in Christ: Sandra Skipper of Macon and special brothers-in-law: Kenneth R. Buske, Ronald A. Buske, Timothy V. Forsberg and Joseph Reynolds; numerous sweet nieces and nephews.
