There are no stories, list of examples or reasons that would speak to the world and let them know the true gift that you were to everyone you touched.  So on this Fathers Day I will just say thank you for one of the most important moments that God presented in my life. The Day you excepted my proposal... that you would be my Daddy. My Brother and my friend. I lost my best friend and brother on Sept. 6th. In a persons adult life, people enter and exit leaving impressions and memories.
Glenn went beyond that. When he entered into my life, he became a large part of it, entwined in me forever. I could not be the man I am today without him. We shared good times and bad, happiness and sadness. But mostly it was the laughs. It didn't matter if we were sitting around or driving a Casselberry police car, we could always find something or someone to crack us up. You will be the voice of the "Turtle", because you looked like one or was it the smell, I am not sure which. I do know that you went too soon, you didn't wait for me this time. I miss you and love you, love never ends. I hope you are keeping my seat warm and Glenn, You don't have to call me "darling", "darling"

My prayers go out to the Lewis family. I grew up in Hampton, Virginia and have wonderful memories of listening to the one and only " Turtle " on WGH Radio. He will be missed. Glenn, if I may be so forward to call you by your first name, thanks for the memories.

Angela and Ric:  So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing.  I did not know him personally but hearing you speak of him lets me know that you loved him very much. In your eyes, he was wonderful. Who was my dad?
My dad was a wonderful man. 
Dad was a hard worker. He served in the US Army. He was the ‘Voice of the Turtle' on WOKO Radio in Roanoke, VA and he proudly served in Law enforcement in both Casselberry, Fla. and Macon, Ga. for many years. 
My dad was a kind friend to many. He was someone who never met a stranger. My dad made everyone feel like they were special when he would greet them. His lifelong friend, Bill Kondracki, could attest to that. I always felt he was my friend because I knew he would be there if I needed him. He always had a shoulder for me to cry on. Dad always seemed to have advice or a silly joke at just right time. I loved calling him because the first thing he would say is ‘Hello baby, how are you.' Then he would break into his latest joke. I always hung up with a smile on my face. 
My dad was a loving a devoted husband. He set the standards of what a good husband should be. My father taught my brothers, Glenn and Randy, what a good man looks like and taught his daughters what to look for. My sisters, Angela and Robin Lee, and I also had a wonderful example of how a man should treat his wife. My dad had such love for my mom. You could see that love in his eyes every time they looked at each other. I loved to see my dad pour my mom's coffee before she got up just to have it the right temperature when she came to the table. Without a doubt, my mom was my father's true love. 
In my eyes, my dad was my knight in shining armor. He came into our lives when I was only three. He saved my mom with her three children and road off into the sunset, happily ever after. Well that is what it felt like it to me. Dad never used the word stepchild or my wife's children. We were his right from the start. He loved us, unconditionally, right from the beginning. Dad taught us patience, honesty and loyalty. My dad was a true gentleman but above all, my dad was a treasure and a true gift to us from God. I am grateful for the 49 years we had with him. I am sorry we did not have longer.

Thank you Dad, for choosing us to be your family and being my daddy. Please know that I will always be your little girl.

To the Lewis Family, I am really sorry for your loss.  I had the opportunity to working with Mr. Lewis and I really enjoyed the time that I spent with him. Mr. Lewis was such a super nice man. He will be dearly missed.

Had the pleasure of working with Mr. Lewis at B.S.O. for a number of years. Really good man to work with.well respected by all who came in contact with him. Sad to hear of his passing. Peace and Love to family

I was so sad to hear of Glenn's passing...he was a delightful man that I enjoyed caring for. He always had something kind to say to everyone in our office and appreciative of my efforts to help him. When I think of baseball fans, I always picture the Dodgers' fan extraordinaire! It was always a treat to me to see what Dodgers outfit he was going to be wearing. Your family is in my prayers today!

I will not be attending a Remembrance of Death. Glenn Lewis is a man to be remembered of his life. Jokes and stories are typical givens of grandfathers, but something about my grandfather's could have stolen the stage of every verbal item you've heard. His lighthearted and comical essence is something I admire deeply, even in his parting. I will never forget how many times I egged him on about writing "Grandpa Turtle" on my birthday cards, and I will never forget how much he tried to remember to do so. I will always remember his willingness to see and get to know me, even if he was near out of energy. Even in his last few days, he was keen and headstrong. He was interested and involved in conversation, and always wanted to hear from me. I thank him for that - I thank him for everything. The only thing I wish I had given more of to him is my time.

My deepest condolences to the family.  I worked with "Turtle" in the Roanoke radio market and deeply respected his talent and the depth of his friendship.

Gosh I am so sorry to see this. Many of us in the radio business have looked all over for Glenn. I remember him well from his several stations in Roanoke, VA, and from his working at WGH in the Norfolk market. Glenn would have been pleased at the impact he made on many fans and co-workers. May he rest in peace.
