Glenn Charles Lewis, Sr., 77, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. John Brigmond will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lewis was born in Brooklyn, New York the son of the late Bessie Wendroff Lewis and Marx Lewis. He was retired as a bailiff from the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Lewis was a lifelong Dodgers Fan and was known as the “Voice of the Turtle” in his many radio years. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Lewis, a grandson, Randy Lewis, Jr. and a brother, Lionel Lewis.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Polly Lewis of Macon; children, Angie (Ric) Davis, Lolita (Mark) Taylor, Glenn (LeeAnn) Lewis, Jr., and Robin (Tom) Coley; 15 grandchildren; and a growing number of great-grandchildren.
