Helen Brown Ellis Heckman, long time Macon resident, died June 5th, 2015, in Knoxville, TN. A graveside service will be held at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by The Rev. Cassandra Howe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to High Street Unitarian Church, PO Box 4566, Macon, GA, 31208.
She was the widow of Charles Burnell Ellis of Crisp County, GA, and married Walter Heckman of Scranton PA in October 1980. Walter preceded her in death in May, 2006.
Helen was one of the founders and an active member of High Street Unitarian Church, Macon, Georgia and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees organization. She was formerly employed at Robins Air Force Base.
She is survived by her daughter Dianne Hiteshew (Lee) and son Danny Ellis (Charlene), both of Knoxville TN. She has four grandchildren: Brad Megahee (Victoria), Jennifer Ellis, Jeannie Goodman (Luke), and Charles Ellis (Stephanie), 5 great-grandchildren, sister, Betty Allison Parker, Macon, and sister-in-law Sara Brown, Warner Robins.
She is predeceased by her mother and father, Will and Ethel Brown of Dooly County, brothers Bobby C Brown, Warner Robins, and Jimmy L Brown, Macon.
