Hilda was a cherished grandmother, mother, and friend, remembered for her warm smile, keen wit and dedication to family and friends. She is remembered for having a kindergarten in her house where she taught many Macon children.
Hilda is survived by her daughters, Ann Crutchfield, Auburn, AL and Susan Glover, Dothan, AL, grandchildren, Todd Crutchfield (Jessica), Auburn, AL, Billy, Chelsea, and Matthew (Courtney), Vidalia, GA and Christie Leverette (Shawn), Sandersville, GA, and daughter-in-law, Deanna Ragan, Vidalia, GA. She leaves behind 7 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, beloved niece Karen Matson and nephew, Gregory Matson (Rhonda) and special friend, Patricia Moss, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, William Leon Ragan, Sr., her parents, Dr. Charlie & Lucille Nipper, her son, William Leon Ragan, Jr, Sister, Helen Matson, Niece Kay Smith and Nephew, Dr. Charles Matson.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 23 at Macon Memorial Park, 3969 Mercer University Drive beginning at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather, celebrate Hilda's life, and share cherished memories.
