Jack Lloyd Davis, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 10, 2014. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Christ at 2:00pm with Rev. Scott Dickinson officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Those who wish may make donations to First Baptist Church of Christ, 511 High Pl., Macon, 31201.
Dr. Davis was born in Thomasville, Georgia to the late James and Mary Lou Rooks Davis and is preceded in death by four siblings, Josie Brantley, Tom Davis, Clifford Morrison, and Aubrey Davis. He was a Veteran of the Army, serving in World War II and was a dentist for 45 years. Dr. Davis was a member of his beloved First Baptist Church of Christ and taught the Adult II Sunday School Men’s Class for over 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking , the outdoors, and spending time with those most important to him, his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Margie Delaney Davis; daughter, Patty Davis Harris; sons, Joe Davis and Jack Davis, Jr.; grandchildren, Jessica Savant of Atlanta, and Kaitlin Herring; great grandchildren, Elaina Graham and Adalynn Herring; sister, Mary Lee; and several nieces and nephews.
