

James Cary Bobbitt, III, 87, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Bob Moon officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Home for Children, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon GA 31204, Wesley Glen Ministries, 4580 N. Mumford Road, Macon, GA 31210 or Forest Hills Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Cary was born in Vidalia, Georgia to the late James Cary Bobbitt Jr., and Nell Palmer Bobbitt. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Ann Bobbitt, daughter, Caren Denise Trammell and sister-in-law, Freida Bobbitt. Cary was the owner of Bobbitt Tire Company for over fifty years. He was a member of Forest Hills Church and a member of the Burks Sunday School Class. Cary was a member of the Middle Georgia Woodworkers. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Thomas Bobbitt of Birmingham, Al, son, Jeffery “Jeff” Hunter Bobbitt of Macon, son-in-law, Jimmy Trammell of Rome, grandchildren, Harrison (Clare) Bobbitt of Jacksonville, Justin (Stephanie) Trammell, Josh (Mallory) Trammell, Lucy (William) Bridges, great grandchildren, Harris Bobbitt, baby boy due November, Ensley, Maggie, Margo and Jessie Trammell, brother, Sidney Bobbitt and step-children, Matt (Kemper) Thomas, Kristi (John) Stein, and Betsy (Dickey) Barlow.
