James Rhodes “J.R.” Greenway, 77, of Macon, GA died Wednesday, April 14, 2021. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel Mausoleum of Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, Macon, Georgia or to a charity of your choice.
Son of the late John Rhodus Greenway and the late Annie Mae Davis Greenway, Mr. Greenway graduated from Lanier High School in 1962. James adored his family, especially his wife, Judy, of 57 years. James was passionate about the great outdoors, especially time spent fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also loved meeting people and listening to their life stories.
Mr. Greenway is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Judy S. Greenway of Macon; daughter, Monica Greenway Radcliff of Macon; granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Radcliff of Woodstock, GA; sister, Shirley Davis (Alton) of Macon; brother, Alvin Coley (Meredith) St. Mary’s, GA.
