James Benjamin McCardel, III, 89, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023. A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park with Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
James was born in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late James B. McCardel, Jr. and Wynelle Davis McCardel; and was preceded in death by his brother, Charles McCardel. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Robins Air Force Base in civil service. James was an avid aviation enthusiast and had many collectibles and also flew radio control airplanes.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dora Jean McCardel; sons, Russell McCardel (Connie), and Scott McCardel; and grandchildren, Brett and Rachel McCardel.
