

MACON - James Thomas Swearingane, 71, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Pine Pointe Hospice Facility. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2011 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Cemetery. Dr. Billy Sharpston will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home and while flowers are accepted, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Diabetes Association of Middle Georgia, Suite 500, 770 Pine Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to the Georgia Veterans Home, 2249 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, GA 31061.
Mr. Swearingane, son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Swearingane and Agnes Nadine Swearingane, was born in Helena and served with the U. S. Army Air Defense from 1957 – 1964. He had lived in Macon a number of years and had worked with Loomis Fargo. Mr. Swearingane was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a member of the “Pio Nono Waffle House Club.” He was an avid and dedicated fan of the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Rita C. Swearingane of Macon; his children, Greg (Tracy) Swearingane of Jeffersonville, Tiffany (Daryl) Leslie of Byron, Robby (Sarah) Swearingane of Byron and Selena (Rakeemion “Scooter”) Harris of Warner Robins; twelve beloved grandchildren, Erika, Justin, Cory, R.J., Daulton, Dylan, Austen, Hunter, Kymberlynn, Kelsy, Savannah, and Kasen; his sisters, Minnie Outler of Forsyth and Jean Bohannon of Byron and several nieces and nephews.
