Jerry Smith Chapman

MACON - Jerry Steedley Smith Chapman, 82, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11A.M. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. E.Y. Stokes and Rev. Bobby Hamlin will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Macon Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 804 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.

Mrs. Chapman was born in Homerville, Georgia and was the daughter of Minda and Jesse Steedley. She retired from Armstrong World Industries, where she worked as a payroll clerk. She was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church and the J.C. Johnson Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of Clinch County High School. Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by a son, James Dennis Waldron and a grandson, Jon Michael Waldron.

Mrs. Chapman is survived by her husband, John Chapman of Macon; Children, Donnie Waldron of Brunswick, Georgia, Judy (Larry) Avant of Sea Grove, Florida, John (Kay) Waldron of Lizella, Mike Waldron of Macon, and Jan (Tom) Kennedy of Eatonton; Daughter-in-law, Terri Waldron of Bankhead, Georgia; ten brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Jesse Hammond, Lance Avant, Katie Waldron, Nikki Waldron, Bethany and Chelsea Waldon, Jarred Waldron, Jason Waldron, and Jana and Daniel Kennedy; Several Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
