Joe Day “Moon” Moody, 61, passed away Thursday, November9, 2017 after a sudden illness. A Celebration of His life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. Rick “Laudis” Lanford officiating. The family will greet friends from Noon - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the funeral home. Mr. Moody, known to all as “Moon,” was born in Columbia, AL and grew up in Vidalia. He was the son of the late Thomas R. and Helen Day Moody and was an NDI Inspector with Robins Air Force Base. Joe was a member of Ingleside United Methodist Church. Loving to fish and hunt, he was a great and generous cook who was the most happy sharing and spending time with family and friends and answering to the name, “Moon Pie.”
Survivors include those he loved most, his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years, Rhonda Riner Moody of Macon; his son, Joshua (Lindsey) Moody of Macon; his daughter, Lauren M. (Steven) Moody of Asheville, NC, and sister-in-law, Kathy (Tommy) Jackson of Vidalia, GA.
