Wen i first met joel it was cold wintery night. The scrathes from the branches of the trees tore at my window. Lonely isolated i played video games to break away from the reality of the pain ive caused. Joel was on a game platform and we met. We first started pleasentries. Inviting one another to harvest each other’s  knowledge. He and i leaned on eachother  for that support as our friendship quikly developed from gaming buddy to friends. Real and genuine. This i know , joel was an incredible inspiration to so many community members and effected them with possible positive change and challenges. His genuine demeanor and friendly personality made him a favorite to the gaming community he played with every single day . As a general of usa and joel, the general  of 53rd. We understand the gravity of such a loss . We accept it.  my team and i send our love and gratitude for knowing you.  Your memory is well kept buddy. We appreciate your sacrifice to those around you and we’ve seen your good deeds. Each and every day brings new hope and the gaming community is forever positively changed by him. We are forever grateful. Semper fi my brother i will miss you dearly.

Hey my friend, My family,My Brother, I will miss you dearly. You always made sure to say hey or asked how I was doing, just to show that you cared. I hope you know that I loved you so very much. Your smile was as big as your heart, for mine is broken-hearted knowing that your smiles, Friendly's hellos or just a hug I can never have, but I do have the memories of our family that always remained with the most friendly moments in our lives. I appreciate your love your friendship and being a brother to me. Tell my other brother James (NAW) I love him. I will miss you Joel, R.I.P Love Carrie 

Joel, you me and James were raised as brothers and sister during our young lives.  Everyone called us the  Three J's.  I will always treasure our childhood memories and hold them close to my heart.  I am glad you and James are together again but my world feels a lot smaller and emptier knowing y'all are gone.  I love you cuz!  

Joel we love you dearly and will miss you on this earth. We know that you are in God's Kingdom of Glory and will be watching down on us. James will surely be there for you. God knows what he is doing and your work was finished here.  Love, Jim and Pat w. 

I will never forget the jokes, the laughter that we shared, and that Joy of life that you had in you all the time. You are always full of love, full of love to give, and full of hugs to distribute to others. You never knew what someone was going through but you always knew how to light up someone's day just by seeing your face. You will definitely be missed by so many, continue to rest on . Celebration of His Life

He is survived by his son, Benjamin Lowery of Macon; father, Louis Lowery (Glynis Mangrum) of Macon; mother, Shirley Mathis (Edward Averett) of Lizella; sister, Talitha Bentley; and fiancé, Becky Maddox of Macon. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Lowery.
