

Joyce Raymell Patterson Beasley, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 20, 2021 surrounded by her family. A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Joe McDaniel and the Rev Len Woodward officiating. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon GA 31210.
Joyce was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Edgar Woodrow and Doris Whitten Patterson. She was a graduate of A. L. Miller class of 1954. As a young girl, she worked as a Stenographer at Goldmans Downtown Macon. She was a homemaker for many years and later returned to the workforce as a Credit Manager at Belk Matthews. Her final job was the Personal Secretary to Mr. Tigner Thrasher and upon his death Personal Secretary to his wife Lyn Thrasher for many years and was respected as one of their family.
Her love for Jesus Christ was evident in every aspect of her life and she instilled her faith and belief in the power of prayer to her children and grandchildren. She loved deeply and made an impression in the lives of so many. Her gift of storytelling and poems was shared to many churches and schools. She was a true Southern, Godly woman who showed random acts of kindness every day. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy to all who knew her.
Married to the love of her life the late Bernard Eugene “Gene” Beasley. She is survived by her children, Kathy Baugh (Tom) of Macon, Pam Meharg (Gary) of McDonough and Brad Beasley (April) of Macon; grandchildren, Brent Collins (Holly) of Macon, Chandler Collins (Becky) of Savannah, Tyler Collins (Susan) of Charleston, SC, Blake Meharg (Jenna) of Mableton, Haley Jackson (Kendall) of Florence, SC, Brianna Beasley and Bryce Beasley of Macon, Thomas Baugh (Erin) of Annapolis, MD, Madison Baugh of Atlanta, and eleven great grandchildren; siblings, Patsy Fellows (Russell) of Macon, Brenda Davis (Phillip) of Macon and Pat Patterson of Macon, and her late sister, Janie Myers, and brother-in-law, Milton Myers and numerous nieces and nephews.
