Byron, GA- Joyce D. Gordon, 78, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Tessin will officiate. The family will meet friends from 5 - 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gordon, wife of the late Luther R. Gordon, was born in Baldwin County the daughter of the late Burden Roy Dixon and Ruby Mae Bryant Dixon. Mrs. Gordon was retired from Keebler Company, where she worked as a "Keebler Elf in a hollow tree". She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her brother: Roy Dixon and a grandson: Adam Terrell.
Survivors include her children, Mike (Vicki) Gordon of Warner Robins, Cindy Gordon Holt and Burt (Shannon) Gordon of Byron and Chris (Danette) Gordon of Freeport, FL; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her siblings, J. C. Dixon of Eatonton, Shirley Wall and Frances (Gerald) Reeves, all of Milledgeville and Carolyn Scarborough of Macon and sister-in-law: Denise Dixon of Tennille, GA; many nieces and nephews.
