
MACON - June Taylor Cribb, 92, of Macon, Georgia, died September 16, 2011, at home at Goodwill Nursing Center in Macon. -She was born December 5, 1919, in Macon, Georgia, the daughter of the late William and Lillie Taylor. She was the Taylor's only child. On September 7, 1946, she married E. Ralph Cribb (a World War ll Veteran), who died in 1989. Ralph and June were community involved residents of Macon having lived on Wesleyan Woods Drive for many years. They had no children, but always participated in the lives of the children of their relatives and friends.
June graduated from Miller Girls' High School in Macon in 1937. She then completed extensive business training and had a very successful 32 year career with Gulf Oil Company. June was very active in many cultural and civic organizations in Macon, and enjoyed participating in and watching sports particularly tennis and golf. June and Ralph enjoyed traveling and visited all corners of the earth. She was a member at Healy Point Country Club, and The Daughters of the Confederacy. Her church membership was at Tattnall Square Baptist Church in Macon.
June is survived by her sister-in-law, Blanche Cribb Christian of Atlanta; several nephews, David Christian of Atlanta, Robert Christian of Tampa, Florida, Mark Evans of Memphis, Tennessee, and Dennis Evans of Waycross, Georgia; and a cousin, Hilma H. Stembridge. June also is survived by two wonderful neighbors, Virginia Elder, Harriett Durkee and many friends at Good Will Nursing Care and Carlyle Place.
June was preceded in death by Ralph, her husband; her parents; her niece, Janet Christian Carroll; and a sister-in-law, Belle Cribb Evans.
A graveside service will be held at Macon Memorial Park on Sunday, September 18, 2011, at 2P.M. It was June's wish that instead of flowers, donations be made to E. Ralph Cribb Trust at Mercer University to honor his work with the Lions Clubs of Macon for sight and eye care.
We will remember her in healthier, happier days.
