

GORDON- Larry Eugene Deason, 64, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2010 at Northridge Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, McIntyre, GA. The Rev. Bob Hamilton will officiate. The family will meet friends from 4 – 6 p.m., Sunday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 545 Aaron Circle, Gray 31032.
Mr. Deason, son of the late Pete and Florence Corine Crosby Deason, was a Macon native and a graduate of Dudley Hughes. He served with the U. S. Army in Vietnam and was Assistant Body Shop Manager retired from Riverside Ford. Mr. Deason was an avid golfer and played in the Minor League for the Pittsburg Pirates. He was a Member of the Riverdale Masonic Lodge and had served as a member of the Twiggs County Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Deason served as Chairman of Church Trustees of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and was a member of Northridge Baptist Church where he was also a member of the Maranatha Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Deason, Joe Deason and Roscoe Deason.
Truly an all-round “Good Samaritan” who loved his church family, his friends and most of all, his family, he is survived by his wife, Pat D. Deason of Gordon; his daughters, Sherry (Ken) Gordon, Brenda (Jon) Kent and Crissy (Roger) Legg, all of Gray and Terri Pinnell of Jones County; his son, “Lil” Larry Deason II of Jones, Co.; his beloved grandchildren, Nick and Haley Legg, Kasey, Keaton, Kendall, Kyle Gordon, Lauren and Blake Pinnell, Zane and Zakary Kent and Jacie Deason; his sister, JoAnne “Sister” Deason of Tifton and many nieces and nephews.
Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
