PERRY, GA - Larry H. Sollazzo, 74, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 PM Tuesday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or the donor’s favorite charity.
Mr. Sollazzo was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of the late Frank and Catherine Thompson Sollazzo. He was retired from Houston Medical Center as a Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician X-Ray Specialist and was a United States Navy Veteran. Prior to his biomedical career, he was a photographer with the United States Navy, The Daily Nonpareil of Council Bluffs, and The News Messenger of Fremont, Ohio. For more than a decade he owned and operated Sollazzo Photographic Studio in Fremont. Mr. Sollazzo was a former member/officer of the Lions Club and the American Legion.
Mr. Sollazzo is survived by his wife, Rita Raye Sollazzo of Perry; children, Gina (Tracey) Weber of Findlay, OH, Tina (Scott) Agnew of Bloomington, IN, and Tony (Kelly) Sollazzo of Perry; grandchildren, Bethany, Kyle, Tyler, Sarah, Logan, and Wyatt; large-extended family.
