

The daughter of Lucille Bates McKellar and Gary Talmadge McClain, Mrs. DuPree was born in Augusta and grew up in Jackson, South Carolina.
She attended Lander College in Greenville, South Carolina, and was a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing where she received her R.N. degree and of Wesleyan College where she received a B.S. She worked for many years as a nursing supervisor at Coliseum Park Hospital and as head of the infirmary at Wesleyan College. She also served with Hospice of Central Georgia.
Mrs. DuPree had a strong commitment to civic, educational and professional activities and was a tireless volunteer and leader in many organizations including the Macon Civic Woman’s Club, the Georgia Federation of Woman’s Clubs, American Association of University Women, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Georgia Mental Health Association. She was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by sister, Jean Gunter of Aiken, South Carolina; brothers, John McClain of Orlando, Florida, George Gary McClain of Jackson, South Carolina.
She is survived by sister, Joyce Jackson of Orlando, Florida; three daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret Anne and George Carswell of Macon, Nancy DuPree and Rob Rodatus of Lawrenceville, Donna and Joe Valbuena of West Palm Beach, Florida, and two sons and a daughter-in-law, John DuPree of Columbia, South Carolina and George and Susan DuPree of Juliette; twelve grandchildren, Eva Carswell Van De Water and husband, Eric, Margaret Carswell Harrington, and husband Luke, James Vincent Rodatus and wife Amy, Andrew Benjamin McKnight, Sarah Kate McKnight and husband Niels, Leanna Teresa DuPree, Rebecca Anne DuPree, Caroline McClain DuPree, Jennifer Marlys DuPree, Georgia Paige DuPree, Matthew George DuPree, and Margaret Anne DuPree; and four great- grandsons, Paul Carswell Harrington, John Barry Harrington, Davis DuPree Van De Water, and Alexander Joseph Van De Water.
Memorial services will be at 2 P.M. Monday, June 9, at Macon Memorial Park Chapel, 3969 Mercer University Drive, with visitation at 1 P.M. preceding the service.
