Maggie Laverne Epps Greene, 87, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 surrounded by her loving family in Spotsylvania, Virginia. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Dr. Aubrey Sheats will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the caregivers with Home Instead Senior Care and Medi Home Health and Hospice for their loving care during her last months.
Mrs. Greene was born in Macon, Georgia and had lived in Macon for most of her life. She was a homemaker, a former member of Bellevue Baptist Church, and a Worthy Matron of Elberta Chapter #214 of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Greene was the daughter of the late Florence Bush Epps and Glenn Augustus Epps, the widow of Jerry Paul Greene and was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Epps, Jr.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her son, Donnie Greene formerly of Macon; daughter, Paulette G. Winn (Bob) of Spotsylvania, VA; grandchildren, Brian Winn and his companion, Anissa Brown, Dr. Robert Winn (Christine) of Philadelphia, PA; great-grandchildren, Holly Winn and Taryn Higgins; brother, Ronnie Epps (Rosie) of St. Charles, MO; several nieces & nephews.
