Margaret Darley Brantley (89) passed away on March 18, 2018. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Paul Dziadul will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Brantley spent her early years in Macon and graduated from Miller High School in 1947 and raised her family here. In 1967, she moved to Florida and was an Independent Insurance Agent there for more than 25 years. She owned her own agency in New Port Ritchey and was a Certified Life Underwriter. In 1997 she moved back to Macon, relocating to Greenville SC in 2013.
Mrs. Brantley was an active member of the former West Highlands Baptist Church. She also was a former member of Senior Friends of Macon. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Barnett Brantley, her son, Randy Kilgore, her parents, Ellis and Evelyn Darley, brothers Vernon, Gene, Kenneth, and Hal Darley and sister, Betty Buchert.
Survivors include son, Bruce (Teresa) Kilgore of Simpsonville, SC; sister R. Faye Darley (Walter) Thomas of Greensboro, NC, step—daughters Sharon (Bill) Reid of Buford, GA, Annette (William) Bradshaw of Greer, SC, grandson Jeff (Kathy) Kilgore of Fountain Inn, SC, granddaughter Teri Kilgore of Simpsonville, SC. Great grandchildren Ashley and Brandon Kilgore of Warner Robins, Tyler and Austin Kilgore of Fountain Inn SC. Cheyenne Kilgore of Simpsonville, SC and great-great grandson Harper Satterfield of Warner Robins, GA.
