

Mary Jane Nokes Knowland, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 @ 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Snow's @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Tim Long officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. to service time. Hands of Hope will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Mary was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late William and Lyda Estes Nokes. Mary was married to Charles Raymond Knowland for just shy of 60 years. She was a member of First Evangelical Church where she was in charge of the church food pantry; previously at Shurlington Nazarene Church she served as Mission Church President. She was a Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School Director, Children’s Quiz, and Children Church Director. She and her husband thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.
She is survived and deeply loved by her sons, Dennis Knowland, Allyn Knowland (Cindy), Doug Knowland (Angie), Jody Knowland (Angie), Scott Knowland (Hope), Eric Knowland; daughter, Kim Burdeshaw (Dennis); grandchildren, Missi, Adam, Katie, Amber, Taylor, Haleigh, Tyler, Heaven, Victoria, and Eric James; 12 great grandchildren, three brothers, Ronnie Nokes (Joyce), Johnny Nokes, Jerry Nokes (Liz); three sisters, Betty Smith, Ruth Gentry, Shirley Caudill (Raymond), and several nieces and nephews.
